Steve was born with a natural ear for music. Recognizing his talent, his mom started him on piano lessons when he was eight years old, By the age of twenty, he was playing professionally. In 1981, Steve earned his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Music from The University of Texas at Dallas with an emphasis on theory and composition. After graduating, he directed music full
time for numerous churches - large and small - from Tulsa to Florida, and Texas. During this period of his life he also lent his talent to several singers and musicians either in a performing or studio-recording role.
In 2006, life presented Steve with a new direction and he decided to pursue his long-time passion: to solely sing and perform for a living. His new adventure has been rewarding. Not only is he an accompanist for middle and high school choirs, but his accomplished playing skills and pleasant voice have been heard at many San Antonio venues: from the beautiful Main Plaza in downtown San Antonio to the Josephine Theatre, Ft. Sam Golf Club, and many other venues in the area. He has also performed his great mix of standards, oldies, and popular hits at numerous weddings, banquets, and private parties around town. Since June of 2010, Steve is a favorite once-a-month dinner-music regular at O'Brien's Restaurant and Bar in Bergheim, TX.
In January 2010 Steve met Allan and Lili Horwath, thanks in part to their son, Manny. At the time, they were looking for a pianist to add to their Valentine's show with Marcos Valdéz. Since then, it has been Steve's pleasure to not only be friends with the Horwath's, but to also be included in many Horwath Productions shows.
Steve is happily married to Loraine, whom he met through eharmony in March of 2007. They wed on June 7, 2008, and enjoy every minute of each other's company. Not only is she his biggest fan and supporter, but she is also behind every bit of Steve's success. She loves to tell him, "I love you to the moon and back."
